Creative vocal and piano duo Jacqueline Serpas and Michael Angell have performed extensively in Canada and Argentina.  In fall 2010, they released their premiere recording of lieder and Spanish songs, recorded at CBC’s Glenn Gould Studio in Toronto.

Jacqueline holds a Master of Vocal Performance from McGill and a Bachelor of Vocal Performance from the University of Calgary. She also trained in Argentina with maestro Sergio Tulian. As the head of Serpas Vocal Arts in Calgary, Alberta, Jacqueline continues to inspire future generations of vocalists. Her students are frequently acknowledged with high honours in festivals and competitions.

Michael Angell completed his undergraduate degree at the Université de Montréal in music performance and French, followed by graduate and postgraduate work in music performance and musicology in Regina, Edmonton, Calgary and Buenos Aires. His performances have ranged from the complete Grieg violin sonatas, to a live broadcast of songs by Joni Mitchell with The Divatones, the Brahms Sonatas for viola and piano, the Arne G minor harpsichord concerto, and a Tin Pan Alley lecture recital sung from the piano. He has taught at the University of Regina, University of Alberta, Mount Royal College (Calgary), and the Conservatorio Thibaud-Piazzini in Buenos Aires.

The High River recital featured a variety of entertaining and passionate songs from their CD, including works by Strauss, Granados and Falla.
