Since appearing on our stage in 2010, mezzo-soprano Brenna Corner has won renown as an internationally recognized director of opera. Recent productions include staging Don Giovanni for the Seattle Opera, Dead Man Walking for the Israeli Opera in Tel Aviv, La Bohéme for Calgary Opera, The Flying Dutchman for the Houston and Cincinnati Operas, L’Elisir d’Amore for Vancouver Opera, and Carmen for Atlanta Opera. Brenna, who hails from High River, is also a certified member of Fight Directors Canada and has choreographed many fights for both opera and theatre. 

Brenna includes world-renowned soprano Tracy Dahl among her vocal instructors. She studied Italian opera in Verona, and holds a degree in music from the University of Manitoba. A graduate of the Grant MacEwan Musical Theatre program in Edmonton as well as the British American Drama Academy, she is the artistic director of Fraser Lyric Opera and Manitoba Underground Opera in Winnipeg, Canada.
