Renowned Calgary vocal coach Heather Henderson-Hyrhoriw has worked with some of southern Alberta’s finest voice students. She is a private voice teacher, clinician, adjudicator, performance coach, director and choir director. Heather has worked with Cow Town Opera Summer Academy (COSA) and is on the voice faculty at the Chinook School of Music and Mount Royal University.

A lyric soprano, Heather has performed with the St. Louis Opera Theatre, Opera East, Boulder Festival, Calgary Opera, the Calgary Philharmonic, Banff Festival, Folks Opera, Storybook theatre, on the Stampede Stage and with the Calgary Theatre Singers. She has appeared in recital across Canada and the United States. She initially studied voice with Kyoko Kawakami and Elaine Case, and went on to study vocal performance and opera at the University of Colorado, the Saint Louis Conservatory of Music, and the University of Houston.

Heather is dedicated to helping singers of all ages and levels achieve their goals by demystifying the act of singing. Outside the studio, you’ll find her teaching karate, spending time with her family and paddle surfing.

After an informative and enriching afternoon masterclass, Heather collaborated with these wonderful students to perform a dazzling evening concert of musical theatre, opera and operetta.

The equally talented Ron Bennie provided accompaniment for Heather and her voice students.
